Jennifer is the friendly voice you hear on the other end of the line when you call our office. She is an integral member of our team and runs a tight ship at the office! It’s easy to understand why our clients (and we) adore Jennifer, she has a big heart, genuinely cares about our clients, and goes the extra mile every time.

Q: What does your job at Beattie Onorato entail?

A: My job includes a variety of different things, which is what I like most about it. My main responsibility is billing and payments, which means a lot of number crunching. I work closely with our clients to address their individual needs and to make sure they understand their invoices. I am usually the first person to speak with new clients when setting up a consultation with one of our attorneys. I spend time getting to know the person and make sure I gather the necessary information regarding their case to ensure that the attorney has enough information in preparation for the consultation. There are many different aspects of the firm that I am involved in depending on where I am needed which has enabled me to develop relationships with our clients – which is the best part of my job!

Q: What is a typical day like at Beattie Onorato?

A: A typical day doesn’t really exist in our line of work, and that is my favorite part! Each day brings new and different things, new people to talk to, new problems to solve – so there is never a dull moment. Some jobs can be monotonous, but this one is far from predictable!

Q: What’s a common question you get from clients?

A: How long does the whole process take? Even though I may not be able to give an answer to that, I can explain what the process is like and the unpredictable aspects of it all. I have the unique perspective of having gone through a divorce, so I let our clients know that I have been through it myself and that helps them to not feel so apprehensive or alone.

Q: What drew you to this job?

A: After working for a bank for thirteen years, I took a few years off when my third child was born, but when he started going to school, I had a lot of free time and decided it was time for me to go back to work. When this opportunity came along it was the perfect fit! I would be doing some of the things I used to do but in a smaller setting with more client interaction. The idea of being there for people going through a divorce or similar matter was a big factor as well. I didn’t know anyone who had been divorced when I was going through mine, and I felt so isolated, so if I could help even one person to not feel so alone it would be worth it.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The people! Having been through the divorce process with children myself, I can relate to what clients may be going through or feeling. It is nice to be able to talk to someone who understands the emotional aspect and understands what you are going through. Building relationships with our clients is one of the best parts of my job.

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

A: When I am not working I love to spend time with my family. I have three kids that keep me plenty busy. We love to play board games and movie nights are a must!

Q: What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

A: A fun fact about me that most people don’t know is that I have enough books that I could open my own personal library. I love to read and need to have the physical book in my hand, so an eBook just won’t do! I have recently started collecting signed copies of my favorite author’s books so there are quite a few books that I have two of, one signed and one to read. My other guilty pleasure is collecting unique bookmarks, some even match the theme of the books I am reading.
